35/365 Primes: Pre-Spring in Murray at 14mm

14mm and the return of the long lost 24-70

I know this is a blog about shooting Primes but I am so excited for one of my babies returning to me from the hospital!

Thank you Forsters! My beloved and oft used 24-70 was having issues. Besides hunting for focus it just stopped being able to focus manually. Clunky sounds were coming from within. Diagnosis: Thing-a-mabob insi needed replacing.  Part on back order so this lens has been out of service for over 2 months.

Camera: Pentax K1

Lens 1: Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 EX DG Macro Current version here, For review look here.

Lens 2: Rokinon 14mm FE14M Review here.

Okay! First two images are from the returning prodigal 24-70. first at 24mm then at 70mm. Same subject, diferent focal length.

ISO 400, 24mm, f/2.8, 1/3200th Hald held.

IDK why f/2.8. I wasn't thinking!

ISO 400, 70mm, f/2.8, 1/1600th Hand held.

Yup...It would have been a crisper pair of images at f/8 or f/11.

Now...back to primes

ISO 400, 14mm, f/8, 1/800th Hand held.

ISO 400, 14mm, f/8, 1/400th Hand held.

I don't consider myself to be a landscape photographer but this project is pushing me and I'm having fun with it. And...I am lucky to have this beautiful park right in my back yard in Murray, Utah.  I'm ready for some green growing things.
