12/365 Magician and Magic Hour: 77 Limited

The 77mm Limited got a bit more of a work out today.  I did a magician shoot. I invited Michael black into the studio today. He brought Manon Marchione to be our magician. On the way home I caught a few nice golden hour images from the middle of the Salt Lake Valley.

Camera: Pentax K1

Lens: smc Pentax-FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited

Manon the Magician:

77 Limited at ISO 200, F/22 1/160TH

City Nature:

ISO 400 f/7.1 1/320th

Black panther or Puma spotted in city park!

Now then, This next one isn't going to win any awards, but I love the American flag and what it represtents. I shot this from my car while stopped at a light.  What struck me about this one is how crisly the flag came out.

ISO 400 f/7.1 1/1000th

I love the rendering of this glass and sensor combination.  MM MMMM!

11/365 Project Murray High Choir Concert

Really the only chance I had to pick up my camera yesterday was at my daughter's choir concert. I didn't want to be "that guy". So I put the 77mm f/1.8 Limited on my camera and stuck the 31mm f1.8 Limited in my coat pocket and away I went. No tripod.

Camera: Pentax K1

Lens 1: smc Pentax-FA 31mm f/1.8 AL Limited

Lens 2: smc Pentax-FA 77mm f1.8 Limited Silver

Chairs:

31 Limited. Shot at ISO 800, f/2.2 1/15th.

Super slow hand held shot. One of these days I am going to let loose with hight ISO and see how well this camera does.  But I was being conservative. SR (Pentax's in body motion stabilizatin) did a pretty good job here. This photo only has a very slight S-curve added in post. I think the colors are pretty spot on. I love the slightly dream like quality at f/2.2.

Next is a field of view comparison between 31mm and 77mm. Though the camera was not aimed exactly the same direction for bot shots, is was in the same place.

31mm at ISO 800, f/3.2 1/13th

Below my baby girl is on the stage right of the solo ensemble.

77 Limited at ISO 800 f/4 1/30th

I am pretty happy with both these lenses. Which one should I choose to explore more in depth first? hmmmm.
