Flowers
Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 07:46AM I have yet to master flower photography, but I'm learning and having fun.
This is a passion vine flower. I'm told that they only stay in bloom for something like 2 days. I was killing time last week waiting to pick up my son from a soccer game. As I was poking around looking for things to catch my interest this guy asked me what I was photographing. As we talked he invited me through his back yard gate to the front and showed me this wonderful vine covering part of the front of his house. The light was low, but I had my tripod. The shutter speed was low, so the bee is not as crisp as I would like.
Another view:
This flower was by the road in Mill Creek Canyon as I was walking back to the car with the family and dogs from a hike up Big Water trail. I had no tripod because of handling the dogs, so this was hand-held.
