I think maybe there was a misinterpretation of what you were getting at. It is really hard to trust another person with not only what you love(your family) and what you love to do(photography). It took some grace I'm sure! But I trust as a professional that you made the right decision trusting a professional so that you could focus on being dad. I think that was the right choice! As important as photography is it's the way we remember, not the memory. And a wedding is just a wedding, not a marriage. Have an awesome life with your family and I hope the wedding images fit the wonderful day! All the best, Jeremy.

Sean Stalls comments on How Does a Wedding Photographer Deal With Their Own Wedding?

First... I hope the images are better then these because there are so many things "wrong" with these. Bad lighting, color and more. I'm sure you do fine work but don't be so judgmental especially when I see amateur photos like these. I've shot weddings for over 8 years so I kinda know what I'm talking about here. :)

James comments on How Does a Wedding Photographer Deal With Their Own Wedding?

Were her dress and veil BLUE?! It sounds like this is the same for you. With that said, if you were this concerned about your son's wedding photographs, why didn't you play a more active roll in the selection process? More importantly, you're jumping to conclusions before seeing a single proof. You've already set this photographer up for failure in your mind. As creatives, we all work differently and travel different paths to get to the same destination. Just because one person doesn't do things the way you would doesn't mean that the end result isn't a beautiful collection of images that capture the day well. Keep an open mind and don't rush to conclusions based on your way of doing things. Photography isn't a one way street.

Erin Reisner comments on How Does a Wedding Photographer Deal With Their Own Wedding?

I am sure the photographers photos are amazing. It was just what the couple had wanted and your anxiety wouldn't exist if you had suggested that the other photographer photograph the wonderful couples engagement session before hand. I am sure the work is modern, fresh, romantic, and tells all the story of the day from a new perspective. One of a more modern photographer. Sometimes it is hard to put down your profession for the gift of your child, but I am saddened because it sounds like you were upset the whole day and worrying about the photos instead of just enjoying the moments as they happened. It sounds to me, from your perspective, that the other photographer wasn't good enough and you haven't seen anything. That isn't fair and what if they looked up to you? You didn't teach or work what seems like out of love, it seems like you are throwing them under the bus, and you sound ungrateful for their days work without knowing the out come. Honestly it sounds like you really wanted to take the photos and maybe you should have but that isn't what happened here. Be positive and up lifting. things happen for a reason and it will turn out ok.

Cheap Poster Printing comments on What's Cooking?
